SCIENTIFIC CAREER
I have received my B.Sc. in Chemistry (Hons.) from the University of Calcutta, M.Sc. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, and Ph.D. in Molecular Sciences from the Arizona State University. I have a wide range of post-doctoral research experience spanning academia and industry. I am currently interested in developing plant-based sustainable, bio-degradable materials for packaging and other novel applications, 3D printing of food/ materials, novel applications of protein from edible sources, organometallic pincer chemistry and catalysis, Functional food, antioxidant research, precision nutrition, and green chemistry. 1. Received an active research seed grant (extendable) from a major multinational corporation as a co-principal investigator (Co-PI) to develop biodegradable coating materials for polymeric films.
2. Submitted a provisional patent application for a sustainable material developed at The Ohio State University.
3. Awarded a grant (Co-PI) from Valent USA, LLC, to develop formulations for removing pesticide residues from polymeric surfaces and agrichemical equipment.
4.CoSolve Sustainability award winner, AstraZeneca (2023), grant money awarded for developing sustainable pipette.

I host the oldest of Kolkata-based Bangla podcast on youtube called "Chondimondop"- which means an open space for open minds. Chondimondop is an informal space (a.k.a আড্ডা) in Bangla/English on a wide variety of topics to document a fingerprint of the current time and preserve heterodoxy in an increasingly divided world. I started to document the urban legends in Kolkata's academia (the first ever such attempt), which slowly expanded to other obvious topics in Kolkata-style Chai-shop adda such as Music, Sports, Films, Politics, History, and Economics, maintaining the reference-worthy intellectual rigor as well as the bespoke coffeehouse mood.NON-ACADEMIC EFFORTSSOCIAL WORK
